I bought the universal roof racks with door clamps, 105cm, for my Golf V 2005, which does not have roof rails.First impression is of a product with solid quality and engineering.During installation a few issues occurred, which made installation a bit tricky, required adjustments, and limit the use to temporary use only.Firstly, from the product image I assumed the width would be adjustable between 105 cm and 108 cm, outer edge. However, that is not the case.The feet and bar are riveted together, and the outer edges of feet are at a fixed distance of 108 cm. This means the feet may stand partially on the flat roof and the rail. However, the flexible angle of the feet, thick rubber pads, and crease in the rubber help still achieve a solid stand (see pictures).Secondly, in one of the feet the ratchet mechanism was a bit skew, and the teeth slipped on the metal buckle during tightening. This could be corrected by leveraging into position with a screwdriver.Third issue is that the door clamps bend down the outer rubber lip of the door sealing. Testing with the watering can confirmed water tightness on the inner rubber lip, though.However, leaving the carrier on for long time may affect the outer lip permanently, and maybe also leave rubber marks on the door frame.This I see as the biggest drawback of this design, but it’s part of this type of clamp-on carrier, and cannot be avoided, I guess.Driving test:Thin whistling starts at 100 kmh, wind rushing heard from 120 kmh and up.Pros:+ very solid, aerodynamic carrier bar, with rubber padding on top, and potentially a cut-out gap for accessory attachments+ flexible feet angle for versatility and secure stand+ thick rubber padding/ coating on feet and roof hooks for secure attachment and to protect against scratches in the paint+ 2 different types of door hooks to choose from for good fit+ clever integrated ratchet mechanism for easy and secure installation without toolsCons:-length of carrier bars / distance of feet cannot b
