I bought this lathe before another buyer mentioned there was no steady or follow rest, only an answer in the questions from “A Manufacturer” stating that there was. It listed an “accessory kit” in the description and I hoped that would be the rests, but no. Other than that, and a janky safety cover for the chuck that had to be removed to use the machine (no big deal), it is a really nice machine, especially for the price. Cleanup was easy with wd40, and not a spot of rust anywhere to be seen. The tailstock ram has a slot that was not milled all the way and prevents the ram from going all the way in, so it won’t kick out a mt2 arbor, but that is easily machined to correct it. The chuck is a little rough to turn, will have to take it apart and clean it or something. Also, it is a three hole pattern, so an adapter is needed to mount a four hole pattern four jaw chuck. The cross slide is very nice, the compound as well. And the carriage moves smoothly. Overall I’m pleased with it and expected it to be more work to make it useable, so that’s a nice surprise.
